Complain Much?

I just got done reading a friends blog.  She posted a quote from a book she had read.   I loved reading it.   Here it is:

"If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, and a place to sleep... you are richer than 75% of the world's population.  If you have a little money in the bank or even spare change in a dish some place... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.  If you can drink from your kitchen faucet whenever you want... you are more fortunate by far than 1.5 billion people who have no access to clean water at all.  If you can attend a church or a political rally without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death... you have the kind of freedom denied to more than 3 billion people in the world.  If you can read this message, you are more blessed than 2 billion people who cannot read at all.  If your every day problems are weighing you down, there are millions of people who would gladly trade places with you right now - problems and all - and feel they have been blessed."

Lately, I've noticed all some people do is complain.   Look, I'm not perfect, and I am just as guilty, but it's getting to the point now where I don't even want to be around said people.   We are doing something that lots of people fight to do everyday, LIVE OUR LIVES.   Can't we just be happy with what we have?    Life isn't going to be perfect.  It irritates me from time to time that I don't own my own home.    That my car is a 1997 and not a 2011... or that it needs work.   I wish I were thinner.  I hate, hate, HATE my skin. I hate being in pain.  I hate itching.  I hate the way it looks.   I hate the looks people give me.  I hate going into public without wearing a sweater, even during the Summer time just to hide the psoriasis.  I hate that people are so judgemental.

But please understand, while I dislike these things about myself, and about my life, all I can do, is try to put it past me, work towards improving things, and move on.   Why dwell on things that I cannot change?   There are things that I can change, that comes with time... so why complain about it?   I need to DO whatever it takes to get it done.    In the meantime, I'm going to be as happy as possible with the things I do have.   Unfortunately, it feels like others are dragging me down.  And it's worse when it's someone so close to you.   To the point that I just want to run away and hide.   What a shitty feeling.    It's beginning to rub off on me.  I'm finding myself in a rut more than not lately... and I don't mean to pin it on anyone... but it's because of you.  Day after day of constant complaining, not being happy with this or that... it's dragging me down.  I need to, WE need to change this behavior for Emily.
